Easy + Delicious Beetroot Soup

I’m loving beets at the moment, not only for their liver cleansing properties, but their sweet taste. For me, cooking needs to be simple, and this recipe is just that. Perfect for a rainy winters night when you don’t feel like cooking or eating anything too heavy.

Serves 1-2


  • 1 tablespoon ghee

  • 1 tablespoon panchaphoron (Cumin, Brown Mustard, Fenugreek, Nigella and Fennel Seeds)

  • 1 fresh beetroot

  • Pinch of turmeric powder

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 3-4 cups of hot water


  1. Melt ghee in a saucepan.

  2. Add spices to the ghee and infuse.

  3. Cut beetroot into small bitesize pieces and add to the ghee and spices.

  4. Add hot water and boil until beets soften.

  5. add turmeric, salt and pepper towards the end.

  6. Add everything to the nutribullet or blender and blend for a minute.

  7. Serve hot!

You can also add coconut milk if you like or vary the spices according to the season and bodily imbalances.
